Here are a few words from the groom, Peter: “Vi is from Florida, and I live in Boston. We both met a couple years ago at a mutual friend’s (Haily) birthday dinner when Vi flew up to Boston to visit. Strangely enough, Haily never mentioned Vi to me at any time in our friendship (some friend, right?) Anyway, we hit it off when Vi spent another week in Boston soon after the birthday dinner. I even snuck my contact information into her phone and labelled it, “Miss You” for use at a later time. I thought I was being smooth, and fate must have been on our side. Her return flight to Florida was delayed several hours, and Haily told me to call Vi so that she wouldn’t need to spend eternity in an airport waiting. So, you can only imagine her reaction to seeing “Miss You” on her phone when I called. All that extra time we got to spend together solidified the start of our relationship. I took Vi on our first date during another of her (soon to be frequent) trips to Boston. We went to Ole in Cambridge and spent a night strolling through Harvard’s yards. If you’ve never been, Ole has fantastic homemade gourmet Mexican food, and the service and ambiance are great.
Vi spent a year flying to Boston from Florida, but we made it work. She’s soft and sweet, and I’m rough and tough. She never thought much of dogs, and I’m a huge dog lover (which she is also, now). She has since moved up to Boston, and we’ve made New England our home. Oh, I also forgot. The year she decided to move up, we had the absolute harshest winter in history – record amounts of snow, brutal cold, and a Floridian who isn’t used to temperatures below 70. So, it was only fitting that I proposed to her hours before that freak snow storm in October… at dawn… when it was hovering around freezing temperatures.

”
I think the “Miss you” is incredibly smooth. I’ve done similar to my friend’s phone, but I usually put my number under, “Dumbledore”… “Darth Vader”… or ”Jessica Alba”. :)
Onto the Granite Links wedding!
